Techniques for Working with Thoughts (Gratitude Practice)

Techniques for Working with Thoughts (Gratitude Practice)

We know that sometimes our brain can be completely overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, negative thoughts, and unfortunately, we follow its lead. The human psyche is structured in a way that often shifts focus to events or states that pull us down and drain our energy. In such moments, it's crucial to understand that WE control our thoughts and attitudes towards what's happening, not the other way around. But this is a constant self-improvement effort. There are many techniques for working on your states or thought control, and today we'll share one of them.

Just before the holidays, at the end of the year, when everyone is reflecting on what has happened, summarizing and setting new goals, the Practice of Gratitude is very appropriate.

Gratitude evokes positive emotions, shifts focus to positivity and inner peace, which strengthens the immune and endocrine systems. During the practice, we retrain our brain to better cope with difficult circumstances.

It can take any form: written on a piece of paper, in a special journal, during meditation, alone with your thoughts. The main thing is to start without pressure. You can choose one or two things you're grateful for each day, and then this list can grow.

We've compiled a list of tips to make it easier for you to start incorporating something new into your life:

  • Keep a gratitude journal (you can choose any notebook you like in our Roomiess space) and fill it out before sleep or after waking up, when our thoughts are calm, and to establish it as a habit, a mini-ritual.
  • Say thank you. We often forget to thank our close ones for their help, advice, warmth, and not take it for granted.
  • Be in the moment. Any practice, first and foremost, is a pause, a slowdown, an opportunity to listen and devote time to yourself and your psychological state, and direct it in the right direction.
  • Affirmations. The practice can be concluded with different positive affirmations, expressions, wishes that you direct inwardly (praising yourself for achievements and the journey taken, erasing various limitations in your head and imagining new, most desired goals).

We really hope that this ritual will bring a little more calmness, harmony, and positive emotions into your life. And, of course, we are very grateful that you are with us!

Embracing and inspiring,

Roomiess
